How does it work?
Your design or image is printed with sublimation ink on sublimation paper using a compatible inkjet printer. The transfer is positioned onto the article and pressed using a professional heat transfer press. The heat transfer process enables the sublimation ink pigments to become gaseous and penetrate the polyester coated surface of the article. Certain textiles can also be printed using sublimation and we supply a large range of premium quality performance shirts, made of 100% wicking polyester fabric.
A comprehensive range of appropriate printable products can be found in our online shop. Please note that sublimation inks are not opaque; therefore, we recommend printing onto white or light coloured surfaces including grey or pastel colours only.
Sublimation step by step:
Print the image/design with sublimation ink
Peel off the protection film, if applicable
Align the product on the printed paper and fix it with heat tape
Place the product on a transfer press between 2 sheets of paper
Press for the instructed time at the suggested temperature
Remove the printed transfer paper from the product. Done!
How much does a print cost?
Print cost will vary and is subject to your chosen printer and ink supply method. Refill systems generally offer cost advantages compared to single use cartridges. The following table shows printing costs using different printers. To allow a realistic comparison, the prices always show the printing costs of a fully coated DIN A4 print, without paper cost.
